ABYSMAL. Only positive thing I can say is that they turned up !!!! Glaringly obvious they do zero preparation or scheduling routine. Only 1 removalist arrived to load up, rather than quoted 2, still only 1 on scene 6 hours later and he was still loading up van. Were told this truck had broken down-at loading venue !, so our stuff was moved, again, to a 2nd, smaller truck, which had no hydraulic lift (mandatory I'd have thought), meaning everything was moved manually. We were then told they couldn't fit all our furniture into replacement truck, and promised a separate delivery, within next 10 days .....that actually arrived 3 wks later, after MANY phone calls, text messages & emails from us. Fridge arrived dented, buckled & scratched, which they vehemently denied (we sussed they already knew of the damage as they kept avoiding unloading the fridge, whilst we assisted with unloading other furniture, despite it being at truck doorway & clearly in the way. When our backs were momentarily turned, they quickly unloaded it and brought into kitchen, but we immediately noticed the huge dent & pointed it out, which they denied all knowledge of). Majority of our furniture was chipped, TV broken beyond repair (which they refuted, very agressively), our plastic storage boxes were broken so badly (by them) that they resorted to 'tipping' contents into their rug. As a result,some contents arrived broken, all tipped items were filthy on delivery, and some of my kitchen utensils were missing altogether. We noted they unloaded roughly and without regard, and asked them to be more careful and respectful of our possessions...that fell on deaf ears.
Our subsequent complaint was flatly denied on basis of 'haveing no photographic evidence of items before removal took place' , despite there being nothing in our confirmation letter, stipulating this requirement.
They also referred to their contract statement of client '..having to check all furniture for damage, BEFORE removalists depart premises..' Well, considering they arrived at destination hours later than promised, and departed post 11pm, it's plainly not feasible to unpack & inspect all the contents of a 5 bedroom houseRead more
