I booked with this company and paid $400 deposit weeks ago for job to be done today 12th December. Emailed and left phone messages last Friday to confirm time etc. No response. Arrived to meet removalists at 7:45am. No sign of removalists. Several calls and messages to Brendan Dean went unanswered. Eventually after more than an hour he rang and said a truck was on its way telling me he had been in an eye appointment. Doesn’t explain lack of response last Friday.
At 3pm there was still no truck. I must have made at least 20 calls, left messages and sent emails and he didn’t respond to anything all day.
He sub contracted the job out at 8am this morning despite having my deposit weeks ago. A truck was supposedly coming from Gold Coast to do the move from Brisbane to Stanthorpe. The subcontractors truck broke down on the highway. No communication at all from Brendan Dean. No explanations, no apologies.
I was left waiting at the storage shed for 8 hours and he didn’t have the decency to contact me and discuss the situation. It was only through communication with the sub contractors that I knew what was happening.
During this time I also discovered he did not take out insurance for this job yet he specifically stated in an email I was covered with CARTS insurance.
At 5pm I received a call from a stranger offering to do the move for me tomorrow. Brendan Dean had given my personal phone number to a man without my permission or discussing it with me, asking this man to ring me and organise an alternative date to move.
Shonky is too kind a word to describe this company and Brendan Dean. The only way to contact this company is via his mobile and email and when he chooses not to answer, the customer is left powerless and helpless.
I had to book another removalist late today. The stress and huge inconvenience caused by Brendan Dean and his unprofessional and dishonest behaviour has been a terrible experience.
I have requested my deposit back and if it’s not returned I’ll will be taking it further.
Do not be taken in by the professional looking website and Brendan Deans smooth talking reassuring manner. It’s all a front.
