Unacceptable Experience – Victoria to Gold Coast

The move started well, with good communication from Lovey [Name removed by Sirelo] and a smooth pickup process.
Unfortunately, everything went downhill from there.
I repeatedly had to chase updates regarding delivery times. Eventually, I was given a delivery window, but after waiting at Storage King for six hours, no one arrived.
After further follow-up, I was advised they were running very late, which was difficult as the facility was closing.
Despite this, they insisted on proceeding with delivery, leaving me alone in a dark, empty facility feeling very unsafe.
To make matters worse, only ONE removalist arrived to unload bulky and heavy items, which was totally inappropriate.
[Name removed by Sirelo], the removalist, was extremely polite and did his best under difficult circumstances, but due to the time pressure, the unloading into the storage unit was rushed and disorganised.

The following day, I asked Door 2 Door Movers to return with a second person to complete the job properly.
They refused, stating it was not their responsibility to unpack in an orderly manner.
An antique Asian cabinet was also badly damaged during the move and photos have been sent to Door to Door
Lovey has not responded to calls, messages, or emails.

This was only stage one of my move, and I certainly will not be using their services again.

There refusing to give my deposit back of $1490! (30% interstate deposit) and cancellation was done 21 days before booking! Under Australia Consumer Law this is deemed as an 'unfair contract penalty'

I have lodged formal cases with Consumer Affairs Victoria and NSW fair trading.
And if my refund is not processed within 7 business days, I will escalate this further and take them to court, in order to recieve my funds!

I have a very strong case, its just a nuisance and unnecessary stress I do not need; having to go through all this trouble just to recieve my hard earned money back.

After doing some research I discovered Door to Door movers customers have had issues before with getting there deposits back (my heart sank discovering this). If I knew then what I know now I would have NEVER BOOKED WITH THEM.
