It is extremely out of character for me to complain especially publicly so it means a lot that I feel I have to warn others.
As a mother-to-be, I entrusted Chess with the safe and timely transport of my belongings from Australia to New Zealand, only to experience a lack of clear communication on timing, delayed service, lack of clearly communicated and correct ETAs throughout the process, extremely poor customer service and lack of care.
Critical items to enable me to run my business, nursery essentials and sentimental items were inaccessible for months with a total lack of communication throughout the process, leaving me in the dark. When I asked for updates I was given brisk, incorrect and confusing information.
I did not receive the care or service that I was promised, paid for and deserved and was ghosted for weeks when I tried to get answers and the refund I deserve after poor service.
As a professional removal company, I trusted your team to handle this move with care and efficiency. Instead, your service has added unnecessary stress during an already challenging time.
PLEASE DO BETTER AND CUSTOMERS BEWARE
EDIT: I find Chess’ response here to my review very telling and I hope potential customers do too. Their response reads very condescendingly in tone which is disappointing, you mention that one of my items was broken and quickly refunded which I hadn’t even noted in my review as I understand mistakes happen and don’t blame the driver or packers for this - it happens, but yeah I paid for Insurance so the fact that I got the damage paid for is pretty basic stuff you shouldn’t need a pat on the back for that and it shouldn’t have happened at all so that’s odd to even bring up now. You mention that I never reached out about my confusion and dissatisfaction with timing and lateness but of course I did.. Nothing was too difficult and this definitely took stress off. I’m sorry I don’t remember all the names but those that stood out were Paul and Lee. Also Stephen, the coordinator was very helpful. I would recommend Chess to any one with storage or home moving requirements. Thanks again for the service par excellence!
