Cancelled our move one business day before moving day
We were extremely disappointed and stressed when this company cancelled our move just one business day before it was due to happen. They notified us by text at 5:10pm, which meant we had no realistic opportunity to contact and organise another removalist that day.
We had already planned everything around this moving date and had given notice based on it, so being told to simply rebook for a week later was not a workable solution. When I expressed how stressful and disappointing this was, the response felt very dismissive. The only options offered were to move the booking to the following week or receive a refund, as per their terms and conditions.
I also asked whether they could at least pick up and store our belongings until they were able to complete the move, but after waiting all day, I received no response.
This experience left us stranded at the last minute and created a huge amount of stress. In my opinion, the customer service was extremely poor, and I would not recommend this company.Read more

I hope no one has to go through what we did. Our experience with StarCity Removalist was extremely disappointing and unprofessional from start to finish. If you book with them, you will regret it. Check other reviews — this is not an isolated case, it’s how they operate.
At first, they are very attentive while securing your deposit, but once paid, communication drops off completely. Emails and calls go unanswered, and you’re left chasing them for updates.
Late arrival & poor communication: The movers did not arrive until 5:45 PM (ETA was 3–5 PM). My wife and mother-in-law had been waiting since 3 PM without clear updates. They then dragged the move out until midnight — six hours for a job where everything was already dismantled and ready.
Unprofessional behaviour & hidden costs: Despite us preparing 90% of our belongings, one mover gave an unnecessary attitude. The original quote was $5,100, but they inflated it to $7,600 with extra hours and “additional cubic meters.” To make matters worse, they demand payment in advance before unloading — unlike honest companies that charge at the end.
Inefficiency & dishonesty: Only two movers were sent, which would have been fine if they worked efficiently. Instead, one spent much of the time on his phone, while the other worked alone. The inefficiency appears intentional to stretch hours and inflate costs. At midnight, they even texted me asking to approve extra charges for “four cubic meters” because they couldn’t pack the lounge properly.
Unloading contrast: When the truck was finally delivered, two different movers — [Name removed by Sirelo] — handled the unloading. They were amazing: efficient, friendly, and professional. They completed the job in just 2 hours and 15 minutes, compared to the 6 hours and 15 minutes the original team took to load. Even they were shocked when we told them how long the loading had taken. If you can request movers do not hesitate because they were amazing.
Final warning: If you still decide to use this company, take detailed photos of your belongings beforehand, as they will shift blame if issues arise.

These people damaged all our furniture. Refused to pay our claim because it took us mire than 7 days to work through all the broken piles they dumped. Worst experience in 50 years. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE.

Did not turn up when all booked and then after 4 calls to them when found out logistics had not sent the text so not truck booked for us. They then send a text saying truck broke down and would not be coming!

[Names removed by Sirelo] were very good and friendly. They were very polite to me and my family and very accomodating. They were good value for what I needed. They moved my items with ease and were very respectful of my belongings and my house. They put the items where I wanted.
