I had one couch to move. Only one. It was heavy , but an easy move out the home. They charged me $650.
It could not fit through the door of the person who received it and was told they would take it to the warehouse, and wait for further instructions. It was an almost brand new couch that cost me $1800. I was then told they can't keep it and would dump it if I did not get back to them asap with instructions. I found someone to take the couch and they asked for $360 to take it 48 kms away to deliver. not fetch and deliver. The owner of Bill's Removalists then called me just before delivery to inform me to pay a surcharge plus gst if they did not have cash. I said it was not fair, because he had not stated that originally. He screamed and abused me over the phone . I have NEVER been spoken to like that and I am 70 years old. He was rude, and accused me of making him work harder then what I had paid for. All in all they have made $1010.00 for collecting and delivering ONE couch... which would have been fine, but dealing with this person, was so uncomfortable and unpleasant.
