5073After complaining and leaving reviews, the phone call I received instead of an apology started with 'I know who you are, I know where you studied, I know what you do' and was then threatened with a defamation lawsuit for a negative review.
The movers scratched walls and floorboards and a bubble-wrapped mirror frame. When installing a dryer, they tried to bang and smash it into place instead of lifting it as instructed, which bent one of the dryer's legs.
When we let the company know of the damage, the removalists threatened to leave with our belongings in the truck and handed us the phone to lie to their supervisor that there was no damage.
After they left we complained once again, but never heard back. I only heard back once I left multiple reviews, which ended with the phone call mentioned above as well as a discussion involving threats of legal action and telling me they had researched me personally. When that didn't work, offered to have a talk with the removalists on the condition that the reviews are removed. In their last communication to me, they offered us $250 on the condition that they don't admit any fault and we can't share our experience and leave any reviews.
It feels like intimidation and bribery is their way to skew online reviews as some reviews mentioned similar thing happened to them.
A 2-bed (no sofa or dining furniture) move 6mins away took them 9 hours (paid $1568). We moved many times across Sydney and this is by far the longest move we had. We recently moved with more furniture and an hour away with the move taking under 6. They didn't connect appliances or assembled furniture and we had the dining set and sofa delivered to new address, so it was very light for 2-bed apartment. Our original quote was $588.
The bubble wrap insurance was voided because the removalists had left without unwrapping and checking the wrapped furniture. Very incompetent.
Please read the reviews carefully before you book, be cautious, get a support person who can help you if things go south and carefully record everything because you might need it. Also, don't forget to read your contract and be aware of the extra fees.Read more
I recently employed the company to move from houses in Sydney, from a two bedroom house to a two bedroom flat. The quoted price for such a move was around $460. I thought that it was entirely in line with the price of similar moves with an equivalent amount of stuff that we had moved in the past. But the day could not have been worse, with the following events:
1) The biggest problem: The truck that we were sent was far too small, such that only 2/3 of our furniture could be moved. The company asked for an itemised list, which we sent – and have now double checked for its accuracy. The next weekend we had to hire a second truck at our own expense to move the considerable remainders of our stuff. Not wanting to risk AAA, we drove it ourselves. Note that we were not even provided the service that we requested.
2) The movers were entirely unprofessional. The signs were already there when they rang us at the latest time they were due to arrive (previously stating they would be there between 8.30-9.30), telling us at 9.30 that they would be there in an hour because they were ‘getting breakfast’. After arriving, there were extensive periods in which the staff were not moving anything, a point noted independently each by myself, my wife, and a friend who was offering a hand for the day. Following an unbelievably long truck-packing time (over 2.5 hours!), we attempted to institute a more efficient unpacking of the truck, but these suggestions were rebuffed. We continually stressed that we were running long behind schedule, and that the $$$ were stacking up, but this didn’t help. In the end, the move – of a two bedroom place – took over seven hours. Much more time was spent by the people swearing and arguing concerning how to pack the truck, rather than actually moving things. The next weekend, when we did it ourselves, we were working 4x as fast.
3) To compound matters, my friend and I had moved out fully 2/3 of the furniture onto the front lawn next to the truck by the time the removalists had finished moving the 20 odd boxes. These items were placed less than 2m from the truck. Of furniture, all that was left for the removalists to move from the house were 1x arm chair, 1x 2 seater lounge, 1x fridge, and 1x washing machine. Everything else was moved by us! By the time the staff had moved these items, my friend and I had already moved everything out next to the truck, and then moved it back to the garage to be taken another day. Even then we were sitting around waiting for them for an hour following this! This was also the case on the other end for the unpacking. My friend and I contributed significantly more to the removal than the staff employed. Even in rebuilding the bed, my friend refixed three legs in the time it took them to do one. I note that he did such a bad job on that one leg that the bed frame broke a week later, and had to be replaced at considerable expense.
4) The staff seemed entirely inexperienced. In addition to the above (not knowing how to pack the truck, not being efficient at all in packing or emptying the truck, dismantling and rebuilding the furniture, etc.), the staff left behind a large number of items at both the residences. Strewn about were shrink wrap tubes, tape, gloves, scissors, padded quilts, drink cans, and other rubbish.
5) Despite the $460 initial quote, the company ended up charging us … $1377! For an unfinished job, as well! Add to this the $250 we had to pay for the truck the next weekend, and we ended up spending four times the estimated price!!!
We later brought this up with AAA, who then continued to say that they had done nothing wrong, and treated us like we were being unreasonable. In the end they admitted us no liability, and offered us the piddling amount of $250 for ‘good will’ – an amount which only just covered the extra truck we had to hire!
To summarise, we paid quadruple the estimated price for the privilege of doing most of the work ourselves, and we didn’t even get a complete order! We cannot warn you away from this company strongly enough. I have never been so overcharged for anything, let alone an incomplete job, in my life!Read more
We understand you have the right to post your review, however your review is not a factual account. Your partner sent through an email on Monday 31st August requesting a quote for a 1-2 bedroom. Your pick up address at 24 Martin St Hunters Hill was not a 1-2 bedroom, it is a 4 bedroom home with a garage. You who made an online booking. The inventory that was sent had no dimensions, as such, unless you have had filled out a proper storage calculator from our website, then it is to be assumed that your furniture was small enough to fit into a 1-2 bedroom place. We don't understand how you can hold us to account on a quote that was not reflective of the actual size of the move and when you had actually made the online booking. We do not agree with your comments that you were expecting $460 when your minimum agreed price on your booking for 3 men $806.80. This price did not include optional wrapping and tolls. This was all in the booking confirmation and was quality controlled and agreed by you. We also had to dismantle some beds that took some time due to their age and condition.
To add further difficulty to the move, at the delivery address, the removalists had a long walk and around 48 stairs going up. Many boxes exceeded WH&S legal lifting capacity, as such, the removalists had every right to not move them up the 48 stairs but instead chose to move them. Due to the overweight boxes, it took two removalists to move two boxes at a time up the stairs whilst the other removalist was dismantling and reassembling. By this stage, the removalists were undoubtedly fatigued. Further to this, at your delivery address, they had to remove the front door to allow your 3 seater couches and dining table to be taken into the house. This also added further time.
You also mentioned that it took 2.5 hours to load the truck and you thought this was excessive. This is in line with industry standards and safe working methods. It is clear you had not ordered the correct truck size and you wanted us to pay for your error. All our removalists are trained and professional but they were not afforded a conducive environment for them to work with concentration.
Though we were not at fault, we still offered a generous goodwill discount. We don't see what we could have done to foresee the issues and mitigate it from happening.

Very slow service as you pay the for the time & not the job. They definitely drag it out. Also scratched the bench of my new house whilst trying to move furniture. Spoke to [name removed by Sirelo] on the day of the move & was met with rudeness. Reviewed them on Facebook and was told to email [name removed by Sirelo] to discuss my concerns, thought it was pointless but gave them the benefit of the doubt assuming they would resolve the issue and never received a reply. Don't bother guys, we just wasted our money.
We value your business, and have since improved our customer service by retraining our teams.
Thank you again, for your honest feedback. I hope to have the pleasure of serving you again in the future.
Sincerely,
