Seven years of storage payments for my 20ft container meant absolutely nothing to John Ryan Removals.
First, they quoted an absurd $4,000 to deliver the container (I hired an outside transporter who did the job for $1,300).
The real insult came later. They misplaced a large hallstand in their warehouse. After admitting their blunder and promising to deliver it right away, they went silent—only to demand $250 to deliver the very item they lost track of.
They are disorganized, unreasonable, and operate in utterly bad faith. Avoid them unless you enjoy being made to pay for someone else's mistakes.

Not even 1 star worth it!!!
We still have not received any update regarding the status of our shipment. This level of silence and lack of communication is extremely disappointing and reflects very poorly on the business.
All our goods were collected on 27 April 2026
- We were informed of a re‑measurement caused by an internal miscalculation
- We were told we would receive an updated plan
- We paid the quoted amount on time
- We communicated proactively and consistently
Yet more than a month later, we still have no information on:
- When the shipping is planned
- When the container with our goods is leaving Australia
- Whether our goods are still in Australia or already in transit
- How our goods are currently packed and consolidated
At this point, we genuinely do not know where our belongings are!!!!!
This is not acceptable!!!!!
We have fulfilled every obligation on our side.
Demonstrate that your business operates professionally and that customers are not left alone with uncertainty after payment and collection!!!!!
Another two weeks have passed, and we still haven’t heard anything about our removal boxes! It’s a shame to be treated like that.

We had our container shipped from India to Melbourne and the whole experience was excellent. The team handled everything professionally from start to finish, and the delivery was smooth with no issues at all.

both are amazing. They were super helpful, communicated clearly, and went above and beyond to make the process stress-free. Their service and attitude made a big difference.

We have nothing but praise for the team at John Ryan Removals. They were so professional, friendly, helpful and made our move so easy. They took such care and everything arrived in perfect condition - despite the challenge of rain on moving out and moving in days, and the additional challenge of moving into a first floor apartment. They set up all the beds and made sure we were happy with all the furniture and rug placement. I highly recommend John Ryan Removals to anyone planning a move.

I had an excellent experience with John Ryan Removals. They were very professional and true to their word from the initial quote, through the lead‑up to the move, and on the day itself. I was given an approximate arrival time and they arrived exactly when they said they would, which made the whole process feel calm and organised.
The boys were fantastic — professional, efficient, and couldn’t do enough to help. Their packing and unpacking at the other end was handled with care and nothing was too much trouble.
I highly recommend these guys for a smooth, reliable, stress‑free move.
