From the first phone call with the office through to moving day, everything was easy and well organised. Danny, Greg and Dean were absolutely fantastic. They were friendly, hardworking and very careful with all their belongings. They made what could have been a stressful day feel calm and manageable, and nothing was ever too much trouble.
Dad said the whole team, including the office staff, were great to deal with. They’re very grateful and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this company to anyone planning a move.
The pickup and delivery went pretty much without issue but a few weeks later, when we moved into our residence, we discovered a box missing. Useful to note at this point that there were 2 consignments on the truck - ours and a consignment being trucked, after our delivery, to Victoria.
We contacted Coffs Coast Moving to let them know a box was missing and they advised that we should wait until we had opened all of the boxes because it was common for folks to forget what was in all of their boxes. Noting however, that we this was not just a few items missing but an entire box. A box which was marked with a QR code recording all of the contents, as with all of our boxes. Sadly, on reflection, the box also had the contents written on it i.e. bike gear, as it contained motorcycle helmets, jackets and boots. On reflection not a good idea as it may have tempted someone who had interest in the items.
Having moved into our new residence and opened all of the boxes and having not locating the items we contacted Coffs Coast Moving again. After some time, the company responded stating that they would investigate. More weeks passed and they finally got back to us to say that they had contacted the person receiving the 2nd consignment on the truck and they had confirmed that they had not received our box. They also stated that none of the employees involved with our relocation knew where the box might have gone. In an attempt to put blame on us, they said that an employee noted that there were items left in the house. Yes, there were items left in the house – cleaning products, our personal effects and suitcases we were transporting ourselves, however my husband and I, together with one of their employees walked through the entire property prior to their departure checking there were no boxes left to pack, and there were none left.
We did have boxes in a storage shed for a period before we moved into our residence but it would have been almost impossible for anybody to take that box given the lock had not been tampered with and the box in question, with all of the other boxes, were the first things in the shed with the front half of the shed completely full of all of our furniture which would have had to be completely removed in order to get to the boxes at the back of the shed.
Our delivery arrived late in the afternoon to the storage shed and the driver stated they would not be able to completely unpack that day so would return in the morning. They also told us that there was no need for us to return in the morning, that they, ‘did this every day’ so didn’t need us waiting around and watching. We did not return in the morning to watch them unload.
At the end of the day, we have no recourse because we were not present to watch them unload the remainder of the truck so they can claim they don’t know what happened to the box and we can’t prove otherwise. My advice is to make sure you are present while all of your items are unloaded and don’t write the contents on the box.Read more
The items moved were very heavy and old, the removalists took great care lifting, transporting and offloading them.
I can highly recommend them for any type of moving you need.
