Star Moving was the Australian delivery partner of the service provider we engaged from Singapore. Up until the clearance in NSW, things were smooth.
For the last part of the delivery, communication was insufficient and charges were excessive:
1) Before delivery arrangements, a staff called to address some questions, offering to come back with a plan, but never did.
2) We indicated that use of the lift required booking
3) A delivery date was offered, and after indicating that the date wouldn't work, and suggesting another date, another staff told us they'd check with dispatch and let us know. They never did.
4) One day beforehand, we got a text message informing us of the delivery, on the date that we said would be adequate, as we couldn't book the lift
5) On the day, delivery team shows up, ask where to park and to get the gate open, to use the lift. While the delivery team was lovely, we had to scramble to get the building manager to get us lift access, and had to interrupt a work meeting to attend.
Overall, we helped, got the delivery team in and out in 20 minutes. We were charged $198 for lift access charges.
Poor coordination, excessive charges, and when we reach out to suggest that a refund of the lift access fees would be appropriate, this was not entertained at all.
Polite throughout, but it doesn't change the fact that communication was poor, and charges excessive.Read more
