Secondly, the people who have given 5* ratings are either employees, friends of the company, were paid to make those comments or are just outright liars.
This is the worst furniture removal company in Australia - & given some of the sharks out there, that's saying something.
This company is a band of crooks! Do not go anywhere near them!!!
SHORT VERSION: Do not use this company
LONG VERSION: My daughter booked this company to move belongings from a storage unit in Moore Park to Terrigal on 3/2/24. They were booked to arrive between 8 and 10am & would call at least 30 minutes before arrival. By 9:30 there was no call. My daughter tried to contact the company. The call was either diverted to hold, which would then cut out, or it would go to voicemail where we left messages to please call. Still no response by 10. Eventually the phone was answered by Andrew, one of the managers. He was quite difficult & told her that she was booked for 9 to 11. She told him the confirmation email said 8 to 10. After checking and finding she was correct, he blamed a computer error and said they would be there in the next hour. 2 removalists arrived at 11.
My wife was required to be at the unit when they arrived and was there for over 3 hours, so left when they arrived & did not stay for the loading.
There were no fridges, washing machines etc & the bulk of the items were a queen size bed & modular lounge. Their own guide is 2-2,5 hours for 20 cubic metres. We had just under 10 cubic metres and had unpacked the unit and loaded into a truck twice previously - each time it had taken around an hour. They said it took them 2 hours. When the truck was unloaded and items placed in the house it took 15 minutes. The 2 men hired by the company were very nice and helpful. My daughter called Andrew to pay, & when she questioned the amount being charged, he became aggressive & said the removalists couldn’t leave until she paid. She asked for an invoice and he said he would send it, however, he only sent a receipt.
I called the company on 5/2/24 and as before, left messages etc but no return calls were received. Eventually I got through to Andrew. After the experience with my daughter, I took notes throughout all discussions.
I went through the fees with him and the following was established:
They had “accidentally” charged for 2.5 hours instead of 2. He once again blamed this on computer error
Their quote stated “2 hour travel back fee (plus 5% fuel levy)”. I assumed that the fuel levy was only paid while travelling. I was wrong. He said I was the first person to read the quote that way and that the 5% is added for all hours. So be aware that even if you are travelling only 15 minutes each way and the moving element is 4 hours, you will pay the 5% fuel levy on top of the half hourly rate for the full 4.5 hours!
When I questioned the 2 hour loading time, he said they were very meticulous in packing the truck, hence the extra time, and we were “lucky” that the move was completed!
I requested the refund of the overcharge and the fuel levy for the time while the truck was stationary. He then said he couldn’t actually approve the refund but would send my requests to “management” and they would set it up and he would confirm details with me the next day (Tues).
By Thurs still no response so I called. No answer so left a message. No call back. I finally got through on the Friday - Andrew told me they had been very busy & management were hard to get onto.
By Wed the 14th I still had nothing, so called again. Once again Andrew was not easy to deal with. He contradicted himself a number of times and made claims where, at best, I feel his memory may have let him down. He asked me to resend my request and the breakdown of the money owed - despite previously stating this was already with management. I sent the information and a reply email confirmed that he would refund the overcharge and fuel levy. After this there was nothing. I sent follow up emails and messages on Feb 26th and Mar 2nd. I finally got through on the phone Andrew insisted that the money had definitely been transferred. I told him it was not in the account.
On Mar 4th there was an email from his bank saying the transfer had been made at 11:47pm. The process was frustrating & time consuming, & has been the only bad experience we have had with removalists. I cannot recommend them at all.Read more
The ease of booking the service through Andrew was exceptional. We had to arrange a last minute move as our first moving company let us down and Andrew sorted us immediately. In the day, Sam handled our move to perfection. His professionalism is second to none. My husband managed the move in NSW with Sam and his team and I received it in QLD on the other end. Sam made me feel super comfortable being alone and everything got unpacked and arranged where I needed it to be. I could not recommend these guys any higher. Great service, great company and excellent teamwork! Thank you for making a stressful situation a lot easier for us!!!
We recently used these guys to relocate from Geelong to Brisbane.
Whist the price was reasonable in comparison to other offers we had quoted and the people dealt with in the office were helpful and easy to communicate with the quality of the move itself was the complete opposite.
Quite a few items we had collected have new marks, scratches and dings on them now as well as half a dozen plants having seperate items (lamp, doona and work boots) shoved on top of them which broke a pot and broke and damaged the plants themselves. This was frustrating as we were made to pay extra to 'allow more room for the plans to ensure they don't get damaged'.
We were in the unfortunate position where we couldn't be at the house when our items were delivered due to covid quarantine regulations, meaning we couldn't inspect the state of our items when they arrived at our new house so we had to make other arrangements for the good to be signed off upon arrival as were told this couldn't be done a few days later when we arrived in Brisbane.
We also weren't aware that our items were being unloaded in Nowra and reloaded onto a seperate truck until pick up day, which we believe contributed to the damage. The movers themselves were very frantic and didn't look as though they took a lot of care with our items.. and that was when we were watching them load the good!
If we had our time over we would have absolutely spent a bit more and looked into a company that did a direct freight as opposed to to a company that had to do the change over to limit the amount of handling.Read more
