41On contacting the company about this, they have completely refused any responsibilty and are placing all blame on the shipping company (which only accounts for 2weeks of the delay anyway). They told us that the shipping company did not inform them of the change of arrival date in port until after it had left the dock. However, Crown informed us of the change in timeframe before our belongings had even been packed.
We were quoted 2-6 working days in port, however this port is the busiest in the states and clearance is never that fast.
We are left severely out of pocket and incredibly inconvenienced, given that we have children starting school a month before our belongings arrive and nowhere to house our dogs.
I could not be less satisfied with the 'service' we have received from Crown or more disappointed with how inconsiderate they have been to the difficult situation they have put us in.
I certainly haven't been shy in sharing our experience with anyone willing to listen and I can assure them that on our return to Australia in 2 years time, we will NOT be using Crown Relocations.
My advice to people moving overseas is to call shipping companies and ports yourselves before you believe ANY proposals you are given.Read more
