We had some 5 heavy boxes shipped from Melbourne. They arrived undamaged and placed in our house.

Paid for a purchased piece of furniture to be delivered upstairs. Thompson's were the retailer's choice for transport & delivery ftom Vic to WA. On arrival the deliverers said it could not go up the stairs and they are not equipped to get it up there any other way (eg over balcony). They have left me with a large piece of furniture in the foyer of my home and a huge headache. Would have expected more from professional removalists. They agreed to a refund but no solution and I am now having to source a properly equipped removalist to complete the job.

My order of 2 very fragile mirror glass bedside chests of drawers were 'lost in transit' between the supplier in Brisbane and the removals warehouse in Victoria. The supplier, Deco Mirrors, just wanted me to 'be patient' and wait for them to magically turn up here in Perth on their own! The helpful people at Thompsons located them and despatched them across the country as quickly as possible, suffering a train carriage derailment on the way apparently. When the cabinets arrived in Perth, TONY pulled out all the stops to get them to me next day. Great service from the locals!!!

Overall Thompsons provide a very amateur service. Administratively they are not professional or helpful. We asked specific questions regarding insurance and breakdown of expenses on the invoice and they could not provide clear detailed information. There was no signed contract between us outlining any terms of service.
We have moved interstate before and compared to other removal companies we have used the container was not packed well.
Legs were not taken off couches and other furniture items - this caused more space to be taken up than needed and meant that the legs left dents in other items that they were pressed up against.
The men unloading the items into our house dumped piles of furniture everywhere. Nothing was placed in position. Couches were left up on their ends they they were a falling hazard. Care was not taken with our furniture for example an expensive good quality wooden table was brought in on the furniture trolley without a blanket between the trolley and the table to prevent scratching.
I would not recommend this company and I would not use their services again.
I was very anxious while sing their services as I did not have confidence our goods would be stored correctly, insured for an damage or delivered.
They also don't take any boxes away which other companies do.Read more
